The risks and complications of LEEP are very rare, however we can sometimes see:
- heavy bleeding (heavier than menstruation);
- abdominal pain ;
- fever;
- smelly discharge;
- incomplete removal of abnormal tissue;
- partial closure of the cervix.
The advantages of LEEP
The main advantage of LEEP is a relatively painless and minimally invasive procedure allowing only the abnormal tissue to be removed and this under local anesthesia.
